Overview

Competition Climbing events (“comps”) are typically held on artificial indoor climbing walls in commercial climbing facilities or on custom-fabricated portable wall structures in outdoor or permanent entertainment venues. There are 4 main types of climbing competition. In addition to competitions, festivals such as the Phoenix Bouldering Contest are a gathering place for rock climbers from around the world. They feature trade shows for both industry and larger sponsors to display merchandise, clinics from world-renowned climbers, and parties.
